GAT has announced the availability of a new, more robust and reliable overlay panel for the aviation industry, the XCELIGHT™ Series 2 overlay panel.

The XCELIGHT™ Series 2 overlay panel has completed initial evaluations on the aircraft and is on schedule to receive FAA certification from the Wichita Aircraft Certification Office mid May 2010.  GAT has begun accepting orders of the XCELIGHT™ Series 2 overlay panels which are a more durable, reliable, longer lasting, and cost effective alternative over the OEM replacement panels.

“The original equipment overlay panels are prone to warping, text fading due to normal wear, and scratches which emit unwanted light during nighttime flight operations.  “Working with our supplier, we are bringing to market a direct OEM replacement overlay panel which is scratch resistant, more durable, and will not exhibit color or text fading over time”, says Woody Cottner VP Engineering.
